Following are a few of the more unique or specialized projects Kalnas Electric has completed recently.

Couple big Butler Bldgs we did in Yucaipa. One building is for fabrication, and one is office admin. About 8000 sq feet of total building space.

LA Co Dept of Homeland Security & LA Co Sheriff HQ. We installed multiple feeder runs, (4) 200 amp 3ph Panelboards on multiple floors, powered multiple server racks throughout the facility, and did a Low Volt Data Scope. Panelboards feed mission critical applications from MDP fed by 200kva UPS, 2500 amp 480v Parallel Switchgear, and (3) parallel 500kw generators.  Redundancy assures power is maintained in times of crisis. Existing cabling a mess. Great project - secure facility.

LA County Public Information Office Chief Executive Offices complete demo and  remodel with multiple lighting control schemes including DMX and Grafik Eye Integration. New feeders for dedicated panelboard and floor ducts for furniture modules was in the scope. LA Co Supervisor news conferences are filmed in the conference room. We kept existing lighting until THE LAST MINUTE into demo as project was night work -  made life much better as the scope was large.

Cal St LA Feeder relocation for multiple Transformers and Distribution Boards for their sports fields power & lighting including baseball field, scoreboards, tennis courts, security & parking lights, numerous outbuildings, and the NASA Bldg. We intercepted feeders, scoreboard comm cables, and fiber optic cables in pull boxes and then re-routed everything to an adjacent wall or new field-placed pull boxes outside an area of a new building site Cal State wanted to build on. Challenging-fun!

Cal State LA - New baseball training & locker room building & Indoor Batting Cages. Pitching machines fed by in-slab ground box receptacles - also power receptacles all around perimeter. Look closely to see the (24) 32,000 Lumen Lithonia LED High Bay Fixtures we installed - as bright as the sun even with Sky Lights that were installed.

Kalnas Electric installs a lot of machinery and equipment! We installed this conveyor "elevator" and vibrator motor for US Mix, fabricating and welding the struts and bracing. We tied the electrical in-line to the existing Motor Control scheme allowing for integrated processing and safety, and removing grates activates emergency stops.

San Bernardino County Fontana Probation 17,000 sq ft remodel. Added lighting, moved lighting; added receptacles, moved receptacles; added data, moved data; added walls, moved walls... Panelboard was facing in toward the bathroom and needed to be spun to the hall before we could begin construction. 1st pic is bathrooms before remodel - we tore this place UP! Nice project.

Riverside County Sheriff's Larry D Smith Correction Facility-@3000 sq ft Administrative addition for prisoner and work release programs. Clean Job - secure facility.

Fresh n Easy Shell for a store that never opened. They went bankrupt B4 it was open!!

LA Co Courthouse W. Covina. Replaced roof electrical & (40) Ex Fan motors, switches, and whips. Roofers stood on the new electrical as fast as it went down - funny breed!

Cali Dept Corrections LA Co Fire Camp 19.  Electrical panel and power receptacle install to power temp inmate facilities while we completed a major bathroom and dorm remodel. Never did get pics of the finished product - Oh well. Secure facility.

LA Co Dept of Homeland Security & LA Co Sheriff HQ. Removed a "plug in" load center with a Sq. D NQOB Panelboard and tied it into Distribution Board fed by paralleled backup generators. Secure facility. Opened the door for a huge power & data project.

Cal St LA Science Dept. We removed an old PLC and installed a new VFD. We installed new Remote Switches, Indicator Lights, & Relays for MCC Bucket feeding new VFD that connected to an exhaust system to remove chemical fumes. Tied into the FA System.

San Bernardino City Econ Develop Agency Offices. 8500 sq ft total demo & remodel. This previously housed a US Senator's Satellite office, but was converted to the SB EDA offices. Lots of moved walls, and added power, lighting, and data. Nice job!

Biggest/most complicated machine we have installed/moved - 25 ton Swiss Made Bobst Die-Cutter. We do a LOT of machine installs, but a regular industrial customer asked us to go to LA, disconnect & disassemble a dinosaur,  move the machine to San Bernardino, & reassemble/reconnect. This machine hadn't run in 5 yrs! Well... MUCH money has been made by our customer using this machine! Challenging & Fun.

Entire Plant & Production Equipment Relo & Install. We took the equipment in the first (5) photos, emptied the facility in next (6), and relo'd and integrated ALL equipment for maximum efficiency flow in the latter photos. Installed new feeders, panel, LED Strip-lights, power drops, relo'd equipment, and installed one new piece. Nice project.

City of Yucaipa LL - Servicing a 480v 2000 amp Main Switch Board. A rat caused all kinds of hell. Also swapped out a 480v 300 amp contactor for Lighting Panelboard.

Redlands Water District 480 V 3-Phase Meter and Panelboard for wellhead MCC. 

Yucaipa City Community Basketball & Tennis Courts. Converting coin-operated system activation. We converted coin-operated lighting activation for these push-button, relay, photo cell, timer activation systems. Total system rewire.

San Bernardino County Housing Authority. Rebuilt all ganged meter sections on their properties throughout the county prior to SCE Smart Meter rollout. We rebuilt literally 100's of gang sections - lost track after a while. Had a hard time securing Bus Bars & Meter Jaws to roll thru efficiently. Seemed many in SoCal wanted the same parts.

San Bernardino County Housing Authority. WOW - this was interesting! This property had its pool fall into TOTAL disrepair. We did our part to bring it back to life.

Robot & Machine Install. Robotic Italian made Emici Box Maker & US made Thompson Conveyor System. Installed feeders, power drops, Robot, and conveyor. TRICK!

Simultaneous multi-power and machine install for regular industrial customer

Upgraded failed service conductors with new Service Drop, installed new 300 amp K-Frame Breaker, installed 240 Delta-120/208 Y Xfrmr, dedicated load center, (2) AC feeders, new lighting and receptacles, (4) $750,000 Xerox machines, and (2) Thompson Die Cutters. 

Installing a Dongguan Industrial Notcher from China with 220/380 V Transformer, and overhead lighting. LOUDEST machine we EVER installed!

Multi-piece equipment install. New feeder, panels and power circuits for Moll commercial folders, HP Scitex Industrial Printer, and Kolbus Industrial Notcher install

100 amp 3-Phase installation for massive industrial baler. This one we could not rig and install ourselves. This thing was an absolute beast.

Cleaned up a mess! Customer had S.O. cord running 250' on the ground with multiple plugs to (2) 120v 2-ton Hoist Motors. Burned Them Out!! We ran an aerial drop with 208v and installed (2) new 2-ton USA made JLC Hoists and Trolleys with new 24v ground controls.

Installation of High Bay Induction Lighting for Yucaipa City Community Center. Kalnas Electric did multiple installs of similar projects for this Induction Ltg Manufacturer

Palm Springs HS Lighting Install. Removed MH Lts & installed Induction Lts. Facilities Dir said lights lowered the temperature and electric bill of the Gym area almost 15%.

Charter Oaks HS Covina Lighting Install. Removed MH Lts & installed Induction Lts.

Royal Oaks Mid School Covina Lighting Install. Removed MH Lts & installed Induction Lts. We were on a real good roll installing Induction Lighting until LED got better.

St Paul's Church. Rewiring the sanctuary with modern lighting and dimming modules. Built in 1943, there were some challenges to overcome. Beautiful building!

.Dainty & Finesse! Neat little LED Strip Light installation for Mardon Jewelers in Riverside Mission Inn - outfitted all their display cases with fully dimmable LED Strips

We upgraded customer to 400 amp service and Switch-board, and added a 200 amp Main breaker Load Center for a 4000 sq ft addition. We kept them fully operational by installing a ground box OVER existing service so SCE could cut and tap into the service lateral on day of service changeover. We poured our own housekeeping pad.

Friends helping friends. Kalnas Electric and some friends remodel our friend - and  former San Bernardino County Assistant Sheriff - Blake Brinkerhoff's House. Pics are of the kitchen and master bath. Turned out pretty Cool.
